Outlook Recent Sign-in activity
To prevent your Outlook account (also known as Hotmail, Microsoft, MSN, and Live Account) from getting hacked or from unauthorized accesses (Activities) keep an eye on your outlook recent sign-in activity in your email account. The following steps are same for Hotmail, Outlook, MSN or Live account.
If you get an email about the unusual sign-in activity in your email account, or if you are skeptical about someone using your account then follow the below-mentioned steps to check outlook recent sign-in activity.
Make sure you check them at least once a week. This will help you in tracking your email account activity. And if you see any unusual activity on the recent sign-in page, we recommend changing your password immediately and check your security information as well. If it is not updated then update it with the latest email address or phone number.
Steps to follow:
- First login to your email account.
- Click on the image on the extreme top right corner, and select ‘My account’ as shown below
- On the new page, click on Security on the top. You will get four options the first one is Sign-in activity, click on ‘view my activity’
- Now it will ask you to verify your identity by send a text message or email to the security information.
- Enter the code you received and check the recent sign-in activity.

There are three important things you can look for on the screen, first is the IP address, second is the location from where your account is being accessed.
If you can recognize the location then it’s probably your location else you need to change the password on an immediate basis. And the third and the most important information is whether it was a successful sign in or unsuccessful. The screen will look like below.
It will also provide you the information related to the device used be it an Apple Mac, or Windows computer, or an Android device.
All the devices will be listed along with the Medium used be it an email app or a web browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc) used.
It will be a complete list of information that will have many login activities (a complete log), be sure to check all of them one by one.
